We had one weekend off and then it was back to partying hard. This time we celebrated Pappy and Uncle Matthew’s birthdays. We set the date, had the traditional homemade ice cream and chocolate pound cake again and got together for some more family time (good thing we love each other so much). I knew Brittain was excited, but I had no idea just how excited she was. She obviously had a much deeper understanding than I thought she did. In preparation for the ice cream and cake, she decided not to eat a single morsel of food the entire day. Cecilia had even prepared a delicious mexican feast for dinner, but she wouldn’t even touch that. Sure enough, though, when that ice cream and cake surfaced, she was all over it. THIS is what she had been waiting for.
March 7th was Pappy’s actual birthday, so Brittain and I made a surprise visit to him and brought along a few cupcakes to celebrate with. We had two different kinds, ones with pink icing and ones with chocolate. Brittain picked out the pink one for herself. Pappy chose a chocolate one. Pappy had to step away from the table for a moment and before we knew what had happened, Brittain had taken over the chocolate icing on Pappy’s cupcake!
