On February 24th we hosted the traditional Clark/Moss/Gill family birthday party for Aunt Susan. I told Brittain about the party a few days before and it was all she could talk about. She was SO excited. In honor of the day she wore her birthday dress that she wore at her 1st birthday party. It was after that night that Brittain decided that she was a big fan of these parties. Each person that she approached would give her a bite of ice cream and cake. Everyone thought they were the only ones she was asking for it from. She fooled them. She fooled them good.
After the party, Brittany, Bryce and Jackson Howell came by for a visit. It was our first time meeting Jackson!:
Brittain is at the age where she now has such a deep connection with both sets of her grandparents. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by family. They’re always willing to help me out, and I really took advantage of that recently as I was preparing for the March 13th Griffin Choral Arts concert. I had to do a ton of practicing, and as lovely as Brittain is, she’s not very patient when it comes to me having to dig into some Haydn for an hour and a half. I’m sure she finally started wanting me to practice, because if I was practicing, she got to have fun with the grandparents.
A tradition with Doot and Brittain – sharing a popcicle:
A Valentine’s Day treat:
Brittain asked Papa to wipe her hands off, but then continued asking even after they were already clean. Do you think Papa refused? No way!:
Brittain thought that she had the magic touch blowing the candle out and then lighting it again:
Finding things to keep Brittain entertained everyday is always a challenge. Since the weather has gotten pretty, we’ve been frequenting the church playground quite often. Here are some pictures I took on two different playground occasions.
Actually, these first few were taken at the house before we left for the playground. I love the spagettios that are still stained around her mouth:
